Guide to Prompting Fashion Models: A Structured Approach
Core Prompt Structure
A successful prompt follows a structured format, starting with the shot type, moving into the model's features, attire, and finally the environment and expression.
Shot Type and Subject: Define the scope of the image (e.g., "From feet to head full-body shot of," "A close-up headshot of").
Model Features (General): Describe the model's overall look (e.g., "a model with pale, angular features and prominent cheekbones," "deep-toned skin and subtle, refined features").
Specific Facial Features: Detail eye color, eye shape, lip shape, and skin details using the provided attributes.
Hair: Specify color, style, and length.
Attire and Background: Describe the clothing and the setting (e.g., "black lingerie," "white tank top against a plain white background").
Pose and Expression: Define the stance and facial expression (e.g., "captured with a direct gaze and neutral expression").
Quick Tips for Effective Prompting
1. Leverage Detailed Attributes
The provided list offers highly specific terms for nearly every aspect of the model. Use these to refine your vision.
Facial Asymmetry: Instead of just "face," specify "slightly asymmetrical face" or "noticeable asymmetry."
Face Shape: Use precise terms like "oval face shape," "square with sharp jaw," or "round with defined cheekbones."
Skin Details: If you want realism, incorporate terms like "Natural Skin Texture," "Subtle Skin Details," or "Noticeable Freckles" (from sections 20, 24, and 27).
2. Define Hair with Specificity
Hair is a crucial element. Combine length, style, and color for accurate results:
Example: "Hair is styled in a short, straight, medium-brown bob with a center part." (From the example prompt)
Using the list: "Hair is styled in a medium-length, dark, messy crop" or "styled in short, dark twists pulled back." (From sections 16, 17, 18, and 19)
3. Control the Viewpoint (Pro Tip)
The "Pro tip" highlights a powerful technique for consistency:
Use a base prompt for the model description.
Add angle modifiers at the beginning of the prompt to generate the same model from different perspectives.
Examples: "full-body shot FROM THE SIDE of," "full-body shot FROM THE BACKSIDE of."
4. Specify Attire and Background Clearly
Always define what the model is wearing and the background against which they are placed. This grounds the image in a specific context.
Example: "The model is wearing a black halterneck top against a grey background," "She is wearing black lingerie on a plain white background."
5. Maintain a Neutral or Specific Expression
Most fashion prompts utilize a neutral expression for versatility, but you can specify emotions using the list (Section 13) if desired.
Standard: "captured with a direct gaze and neutral expression."
Alternative: "captured with a direct gaze and a slight smile."
A full-body shot of a female model standing in a poised stance, featuring a buzz cut and defined features. The subject has dark eyes and a neutral expression, looking directly at the camera. The hair is very short, styled in a bleached blonde buzz cut. She is wearing black lingerie against a plain white or light grey background.
From feet to head full-body shot of, this is a close-up of a model with deep-toned skin, subtle, refined features, and a slightly asymmetrical face. The subject has dark eyes, full lips, and an oval face shape. The hair is styled in a very short, natural crop. The model is wearing a white lingerie a white background, captured with a direct gaze and neutral expression.
From feet to head full-body shot of, a male model with pale skin and distinct, angular features, accentuated by subtle freckles. The subject has dark, slightly hooded eyes and a neutral expression. The hair is styled in a medium-length, dark, messy crop. The model is wearing a white tank top and white boxershorts against a plain white background, captured with a direct gaze.
From feet to head full-body shot of, a male model 40 (Forties). The subject has dark eyes. The hair is styled in short, dark twists pulled back. The model is wearing black briefs with a logo waistband against a plain white background, captured with a direct gaze and neutral expression.
Pro tip: Uncheck Random seed and use the same prompt, but this time add a phrase like “FROM THE SIDE” or “FROM THE BACK” to generate images from different angles using the same model.
